LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLD WATER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM or LIHWAP is for the assistance for paying Water and Sewage Services. Munhall Sanitary Sewer Municipal Authority/Legal Tax is an authorized vendor. In order to apply you must go through the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. This program is in effort to provide assistance to existing arrearages caused by COVID-19. This program is designed to help prevent the disconnection of drinking water and/or wastewater services for low-income households and ensure continued access to drinking water and wastewater services. Households must meet the 150% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines and have an outstanding balance on their water and/or wastewater. Low-Income customers MAY be eligible for up to $2,500 for EACH service. THE ACTUAL AMOUNT WILL BE BASED ON THE ARREARAGE OWED. Click the link below and learn how to apply.
