CURRENT O&M PROJECT – The MSSMA Field Crew are out daily collecting data by conducting manhole and sewer main inspections utilizing a sewer camera/robot.  The Sewer Department Crew are working from West Run Road up to Main Street and from Marion to Brierly/West Run.

PHASE 1 SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS – This project is a result of CCTV inspection that discovered repairs and defects as part of our “5 Phase Initiative” Borough wide sanitary sewer inspection program. Winning Bidder was JET JACK, Inc. out of Oakmont. They will begin construction in July 2025. This project is 100% FUNDED BY PA SMALL WATER & SEWER PROGRAM.  

M49 SFRP – This project will reduce of stormwater along with inflow and infiltration from getting into the sanitary sewer system.  Previously identifying “leaky” areas help define a project of this capacity.  This project was also won by JET JACK, Inc. and will also be starting in July 2025.  This project is PARTIALLY Funded by PA SMALL WATER & SEWER.  More importantly, with the completion of this project, MSSMA will be in compliance with its PHASE 2 COA issued in 2022.

M45-Green Infrastructure Project at the former 12th Avenue Playground (NOT YET BID).  This project is being designed to help control stormwater by holding it in an area under what will be a much larger dog park and proposed GROW Garden for the community.  This project involves the work of different agencies.  MSSMA was awarded $1,500,000.00 or roughly 67% of the project total from the ALCOSAN GROW Grant.  There are additional grant applications that have been or will be applied for.  The estimated cost of this project is $2,300,000.00
